The news and entertainment world is ran and controlled by the 10 percent blood suckers of the poor; these RICH slave makers have found a way to take the talent of a segment of the black community and pimp it out into an industry that receives a little over 80 percent of its financial support from white folks and American suburbia. As a musical force that generates over 100 million dollars a year, 80 million dollars comes directly from the pocket books of the white high school and college age boys and girls that sift through the latest HipHop CD like a common text book. Within the content of these CDs, these foreigners to the black experience begin to get their understanding of blackness, and what it means to be black from the likes of Nelly, T.I, Snoop, Jay Z, the Game, 50 Cent among others… the question is—are we giving the present generation of white folks the stereotypical weaponry that will be used to qualify their racism once these young white folk reach their mental maturity, a maturity that will cause them to accept their social inheritance as the slave master?
If we check the social content of the average HipHop CD, what is today perceived as cool or trendy, will be viewed tomorrow as a social degenerative lifestyle that will be justification for the continued social abuses levied on the backs of the average black man and woman. By allowing these sell-out rappers the opportunity to misrepresent what it is to be black, and the black experience… tomorrow’s projected rulers will see black people as a bunch of pimps, hoes, dope dealers, strippers, drug users, and sex crazed Niggaz that is quick to murder someone, and slow to demand true Freedom, Justice and Equality.
Now…the question is—will the so-called conscious rappers continue to let this happen? Or, are the so-called conscious rappers trying to merge and coalesce within the same business plan as the contracted slave of the 10 percent? Make NO DOUBT about it… if the so-called conscious rappers get their collective heads out of the damn sand, they would be able to see that the musical trends are set and bound by a group of rich slave makers that determine what the masses should be listening to, and forming their individual and collective opinions around.
Despite the flowery words of blackness and self pride that spews from the lips of the majority of so-called conscious rappers, the reality is that these particular so-called informed rappers have become lazy and complacent, and continue to rely upon their open enemy to get their words across. When they allow this to happen, it shows that despite the black rhetoric, the reality is that they are just some more Niggaz looking for a god damn record deal!
These so-called conscious rappers like to rile against the system, they like to TALK revolution, they like to TALK war, guns, and struggle… but these well informed rappers seem to just want to wait on the revolution, they have no desire to jump start it. So again… the question is—do you REALLY have a problem with the SYSTEM, or do you just have a problem with YOUR PLACE in that SYSTEM? I believe that this is a legitimate question!
How can you be ready to pick up a gun for revolution? How can you recite words that entice the masses to buck the system… when you yourself refuse to sacrifice the FRUITS of the 10 percent in order to set a new trend? What I mean by this is simple… Most so-called conscious rappers have a hard time EATIN’ as it is; most so-called conscious rappers are struggling to pay their bills and produce their music… and when these rappers do produce their music and art, the 10 percent has machinations and systems that prevent that music and art form being heard by the masses… what masses?… the 80 percent of white folks that are making the sell-out rappers so damn rich!
So what does these self-proclaimed Revolutionaries, Gods, Five Percenters, and Muslims choose to do… sit on their ass and wait on the 10 percent to SWING the musical TREND into their direction…. This will never happen; the global stakes are too HIGH.
You see most of the sell-out rappers, the ones contracted to the 10 percent, pose no present threat to the powers that are laying out a global agenda of control and dominance. Most of these sell-out rappers were 2 cent… or 50 Cent drug dealers and murderers of the black community prior to their new and improved house Nigga roles anyway… But it seems as if the so-called conscious rappers have yet to swallow and digest the reality of the information that they themselves spit over beats…
NUMBER ONE: Unity… you get with all the conscious rappers and you discuss and agree upon a major project!
You get with studios and producers that are like minded, and you formulate a plan to set a NEW TREND! At first you CANNOT be concerned with the DOLLAR, the Dollar is a distraction, it is a carrot that is controlled by the 10 percent blood suckers, so that the rabbits will run and chase a dollar; therefore they are controlled by what they are focused on… remember, you’re BROKE anyway! Make the necessary sacrifices, and those sacrifices will mathematically cause you to eventually get rich.
NUMBER TWO: Work… why talk about picking up a gun and murdering white folks when you aint even in the streets… you in a studio talking SHIT. You should take your projects and you hit the streets… you GOT to be in the STREETS like the dope dealers are in the streets, like the hoes are in the streets, like the pimps are in the streets… How in the hell can you be a Revolutionary, a Muslim, a Five Percenter, a Soldier for the cause of black people… and a god damn SUPER STARR at the SAME TIME!!? Even the PUNK POLICE is in the streets, but your conscious black ass is sitting up in a recording studio reading a god damn book; meanwhile our people are DYING!!
Get some of your homeboys to get in the streets and REP your product… invest in yourself, stop waiting on your enemy to present you to your people… present yourself… give your street soldiers t-shirt, flyers, CD singles, anything that will connect you to the black community… your true fan base!!
If you put your product in the hands of your hustling street soldiers, they will take the business from the local bootleggers. Let the bootleggers rob the 10 percent by selling that sell-out bullshit!
Give your street soldiers your product on consignment… when they return to you with either the product or the money, you give them a portion of the proceeds that will make them continue to work for you, and the cause that you represent! If we can’t do this little work, please stop talking that revolutionary bullshit… you aint fooling no one but yourself. By creating your TRUE street team… you are in a very real way creating jobs for your people. You should envision stores in the hood PUSHING ALL of your products in a REAL way… why would they do that? Because they feel you and what you are trying to represent in a REAL way!
Do we recognize that it is the 10 Percenter that makes SUPER STARRs…AGAIN… do you have a problem with the SYSTEM, or do you have a PROBLEM with YOUR PLACE in the SYSTEM?!
Take your product and hit the streets… become a ghetto superstar… a person that is truly loved and supported by the community that you are attempting to save. Be willing to give your product away… create a fan base, a customer base… make them love you… BUT… if you are LAZY, then of course you will wait on your enemy!!
NUMBER THREE: Organize… get with the local colleges and their black and Hispanic organizations and start HipHop town hall meetings… start discussing the REAL issues that are impacting the black and brown communities… this will allow you the opportunity to NETWORK… this network will subsequently push your product and help you to create a fan base! By having town hall meetings, you will begin educating the masses of why they should like, appreciate, and support your type of music and art… this will start a new trend, but again… you cannot be a LAZY revolutionary!!
IN CONCLUSION:
All of us have to pay our bills, none of us are exempt from our personal responsibilities… but the question is—do you give a damn about your personal LEGACY… or do you spit that so-called conscious shit as just a way to get a pay check… if so, stop saying you are a conscious rapper, just say you have learned some shit, and you like rapping about it! You are not conscious; you are a RAPPER that is looking for a DEAL by using a CONSCIOUS GIMMICK!! Please think about what I’ve said… and remember, a mark of a TRUE SOLDIER is the ability to RISE ABOVE EMOTIONS… so don’t get UPSET… let’s get BUSY!
